Requirements for Boarding and Daycare

Because my small business is ran out of our personal home, all dogs are heavily vetted before they can be accepted for daycare or boarding. I only accept a small number of dogs at a time on a first come first booked basis. Please look over this page prior to contacting us to book. Knowing what to expect and being prepared will make the process go more smoothly and get you approved quicker. These are requirements. There are no exceptions.

Temperament & training: All new dogs will be required to meet the descriptions below in order to stay with us. Safety is first and foremost.

- dog and people friendly (not aggressive/snippy towards dogs or humans)

- non-resource guarding (does not guard food, toys, people, etc.)

- not have separation anxiety (becoming destructive when left alone)

- must be house trained (does not go to the bathroom or mark in the house or on furniture) There is a small exception for puppies. However, all puppies should actively be working on and show signs of working on potty training. There will be an additional & non-negotiable $25/day charge for accidents and/or marking inside of our home.

- Must follow direction/easily be corrected and not constantly bark. Constant barking disrupts the neighborhood, risks my small business and is grounds for immediate termination without refund. Please discuss any barking behaviors in advance.

- All dogs should be crate trained. While dogs will *not* be boarded in a crate, they will need to go into a crate while we are away for dog walks, etc.

If your dog proves to go against any one or more of the listed above, is destructive, aggressive or not potty trained, etc. you will need to make arrangements to have your dog picked up ASAP. If your dog needs to be picked up due to behavior, marking or temperament issues, you will not receive a refund. There will be a $25 fee for any damage done for repeat accidents & destructive behavior. Please communicate any behavior issues or negative personality traits prior to booking to avoid any issues.

Proof of vaccinations: All owners will be required to email proof of ALL of the following PRIOR to any service being scheduled or rendered.

- Copy of up-to-date vaccination records from vet, with vet contact info:

       - Rabies

       - Bordetella

       - Distemper & Influenza

- Proof of Flea & Tick & Heartworm prevention (dog will be checked at time of drop of for fleas and ticks.)

- Spayed/Neutered if 7+ months old

- Puppies must have both sets of puppy shots to be considered for stays

All above records must be emailed to: kate.kc.company@gmail.com prior to booking.

A medical emergency form and contract will also be emailed to you, if approved, which needs to be filled out and brought to drop off with your dog. We will keep this form on file for future stays. Each dog only needs this done for their first stay. It then only needs updated if your address changes, you switch vets, etc. or if you get another dog.
